WHAT IS LOVE?
LOVE is a ROGUELITE.
Love is a Roguelite (or LIAR for short) is a fun, fascinating and endlessly-replayable turn-based tactical deck building action game with dynamic emotional narrative mechanics, embedded within a procedurally generated love story.
It redefines the rogue-lite genre by introducing the emotional stakes of love, complex relationship dynamics and gender diversity in a rich narrative and cinematic experience.
The Evil Squid King KNORG has captured the memories from your partner LAKSHMI and stuck them inside a MULTIPOCALYPSE CRYSTAL, but things went wrong and the crystal has shattered into many tiny shards, each containing a piece of her memory.
Playing as Space Marshall REX, you’ve got one little shard of Lakshmi's memories, but it’s only enough to give you a fragment of what she remembers. The good news is, until you win and escape, you’re stuck in Knorg's Evil Time Loop, meaning every time you get killed you reboot back to the start of your mission and you’ll learn a bit more about each other.
So not only do you have to fight your way through a whole lot of aliens to recover all the shards and put Lakshmi's memories back together, you also have to prove that you’re AWESOME and worth cooperating with on this whole get-the-key-and-escape-to-be-lovers mission.
And if you suck at the relationship-building part, you can’t win.
LIAR is a game about Love, Relationships and killing a whole bunch of aliens, and will arrive on leading gaming platforms in 2025.
